SIMULATE WHAT IF SCENARIOS |
Simulate the Effects of Policy Decisions with "What If" Projections
MasterLink IWM enables managers to demonstrate the efficacy of policy changes prior to implementation by processing extensive "what if" scenarios based on actual historical operating data. Using the IWM Simulator, managers can visualize the effect of proposed changes in business policy, such as work force usage, energy management, stores, and business indicators, such as labor costs and energy savings. For example, a company's policy on the frequency of preventive maintenance drives the demand for labor.
Using IWM's Simulator, a manager considering changing the policy of scheduling preventive maintenance on air handlers from quarterly to monthly can not only predict the cost of that change, but can also predict the resulting reduction in unplanned events. The manager can set policy values that emulate the environment for the simulation. The actual agent code is executed in this simulated world. The IWM Simulator deterministically or stochastically predicts worker and target behavior.
The MasterLink IWM Simulator evaluates behavior under different policies, plans, schedules, and dispatches, enabling managers to:
- Determine optimal operating policies
- Define targets and tasks
- Manage crews, workers, and their schedules
- Manage jobs, projects, and materials
- Optimize energy usage
Managers can observe the results under different sets of policy values, with an eye on choosing the best set of policy values for your organization before making any changes to the "live" database.
